Terms of use

Last updated 18 October 2026

These terms apply to rotarithm.com, the Rotarithm planner and its templates, wherever you use them. By using them you agree to these terms. Rotarithm is a personal, non-commercial project run from the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”).

A Free, Independent Personal Project

Rotarithm is a free personal project developed independently in the United Kingdom.

It was created to make complex workforce planning more accessible, drawing on practical operational experience and an interest in solving difficult planning challenges through technology.

There are no paid plans, subscriptions, accounts or commercial services.

The project remains under development, and functionality may change as it evolves.

Feedback is welcome at inforotarithm@gmail.com.

If this ever changes, these terms will be updated and the change will be announced on this website first. Nothing will ever be charged without your explicit agreement.

Who can use Rotarithm

Rotarithm is made for people who plan workforces in businesses and other organisations. You must be at least 18. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.

Your data and files

The planner processes your workforce information locally in your browser. We do not receive or store the staff lists, rota details or operational figures you enter.

Your files remain yours, and you are free to use, share and change the rota files, reports and exports you create. You are responsible for saving them and keeping backups: clearing your browser data removes anything not saved to a file. We aim to keep previously saved files compatible as Rotarithm develops, and will try to give notice and a way to export your work if a change affects that.

If you enter information about other people, such as staff names, your organisation is responsible for handling it lawfully. See our privacy page.

Planning guidance, not advice

Rotarithm helps you plan. Its checks, recommendations, costings and coverage figures are guidance based on the information you enter. Its working time checks follow our reading of the UK Working Time Regulations 1998. Working time, rest, overtime, night work and pay laws differ between countries, states and provinces, and may also be set by contracts and collective agreements. Nothing Rotarithm shows is legal, HR, tax or financial advice. You remain responsible for checking that any rota you use meets the laws that apply to you, employment contracts, collective agreements and your own policies before you put it into practice.

Acceptable use

You must not, without our prior written permission:

These restrictions apply except where an activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.

Ownership

The Rotarithm name and logo, the website, the planner, its code, design, text, original templates and recommendation rules belong to the creator of Rotarithm and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Using Rotarithm gives you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it as intended under these terms, and nothing more.

Availability

We cannot promise Rotarithm will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or withdraw the website or planner at any time, and will try to give notice on this website if we withdraw the planner.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Rotarithm is provided free, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business or data, or any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of it or from staffing, scheduling or cost decisions made using it. Our total liability to you in connection with Rotarithm is limited to £100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects consumer rights that cannot be excluded where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, say so on the website. If you keep using Rotarithm after a change, the updated terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where the law of your country gives you a mandatory right to use your local courts or law. If anything in these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. If they are translated, the English version applies.
